My Heart

So glad today is finally Friday and this super busy, snowy week is over with! And so glad the kids are finally old enough to really help with chores - it has been a life saver. Plus they love getting to earn a little money too.

But anyway, Liz and I are posting our final projects for the "Have A Heart?" challenge on the Pink by Design blog this week. It's been a long time since I've made a layout but as soon as these photos came in the mail I'd been aching to put this one down. Such a great memory of my sweeties lying in the grass on a warm fall day. Her waiting for a turn on the rope swing; him experiencing the sights and scents of the outdoors for the very first time.

I pulled out the Instantly stamp set even though I used an honest to goodness real 4x6 photo on this page rather than a fuzzy phone pic. It's still got a few great bits for making journaling cards and of course the arrows!

This challenge requires that you use a heart on your project. Link up by Saturday for a chance to win a stamp set from Pink by Design! PBD stamps are not required (but we do love to see them).

My heart. Love them so so so very much.

I am also linking up to the following challenges:
Two Peas In A Bucket - Seeing Double
Scrapbook Steals.com - Monday Craft Madness #8

Fall Always Love You

Happy Monday! My little babe is now at the 3 week old mark and I'm finally feeling like things will be back on a schedule soon. Not quite yet but I am starting to see it on the horizon :)

This is a layout I created for the last theme over at Paper Issues - Fall'n For Flair, sponsored by A Flair For Buttons.  Sadly the page was finished waiting for photos and I only got to finish it this weekend. Better late than never!

The photos are some I took via Instagram on school picture day and the product is mostly valentine's day stuff inked and altered to give it a more weathered, autumn-y look.

There are a few goodies snuck in too from my Last Summer Romance kit in the PI shop - only 2 left in stock!

Our little sweeties. However did we get so lucky to have such good looking kids? I bet every mom says that :)

Have a great day!

Clearsnap + Trinity Paper Arts Blog Hop

Welcome to the Clearsnap and Trinity Paper Arts Blog Hop!! Our Design Teams have "teamed up" to share layouts, projects, and more featuring Trinity Paper Arts' paper collections and Clearsnap's distinctive inks and accessories. From sports to summer and everything in between, kick your sandals off, grab a cold lemonade and enjoy the inspiration. Hop along to each blog listed below and leave a comment.

Each comment is an entry into a drawing to win the entire Trinity Paper Arts' "Surf N Swim" Collection!

PLUS, a second winner will receive Smooch Spritz in Gingersnap, Designer Foils in Blue, and Design Adhesives!

For extra entries, post about this blog hop to Facebook, Twitter or your blog! Just leave a comment on either company blog telling us what you did and each comment will count as your extra entry. And now, let's heat up the summer!!

For my project I combined the Surf and Swim Collection from Trinity Arts with several Clearsnap products to create a two-page layout of last season' s T-Ball photos.

I loved how the more theme neutral B-sides of these papers allowed me to choose my own occasion, even though they are perfect for beach photos. For the background, I used a mask to spray Smooch Spritz in Navy Twinkle.

Also used several of the Design Adhesives (Sentiments, Banner Wishes, BBQ) with Designer Foils (Cherry, Seaport) to highlight the visual triangle.

See the cute little banner Design Adhesives? Love those and don't think I will ever get over banners - they make the perfect embellishment!

Also did a little stamping on the photo. Chalk inks are perfect for stamping on glossy surfaces. I also used them to hightlight the edges of all the papers for a bit of extra dimension. The Primary Petal Point has all the colors you need to coordinate with this paper pack.

And that's all from me today! Don't forget to leave a comment for your chance to win!

...And She's All Mine

My sweet and lovely 4 year old. I could just smoosh her tiny face in these photos. Such a little doll and at other times a temper-throwing terror. Gaining so much independence but still prefers to hold her mama's hand. I can hardly believe she'll be going off to preschool in just a few short months.

For this layout with pics from her birthday, I had the idea swirling around in my head for months to use numbers and facts instead of regular journaling and finally was able to put it down on paper at a crop last month. (It was the only project I finished in 13 hours!)

My memory is truly terrible and I'll never remember these small facts about her in the future. Even though they are not really significant facts, it's still a fun glimpse at this moment.

I just love arranging all the little bits and embellishments "just so" and this was the first time I'd actually fully used up a kit from a year's subscription to Studio Calico. Seriously all but scraps of the paper, a few embellies and leftover alphas. Wow.

Anyway, have a wonderful Wednesday!

PBD April Release Blog Hop

Did you come here from Rebekah's blog? If not you're going to want to click here to start the hop - trust me, you don't want to miss a single stop!

Welcome to the Pink by Design April Release Blog Hop! We are glad you are joining us, to see all of the fun, new stamps that are coming out! Besides all the yummy projects, there is also some YUMMY blog candy- that you don't want to miss!

The grand prize is a Big Shot! The Big Shot is PERFECT for the new Pink by Design Dies in this release!

All you have to do to be entered for the Big Shot is leave comments on any blogs on the hop. For each comment, you will get an entry. You can also share the Stamp Release on your own blog, Facebook or Pinterest- and leave a comment telling us you did so. You can really rack up the entries this way! :)

As a bonus, I am also giving away a mini kit of goodies to one commentor! There is some good stuff from Crate, MME, Smash, Cosmo Cricket and more! All I ask is that become a follower of my blog if you aren't already.

Okay, now that we have your attention, this release I am showcasing the gorgeous new Map Background! Lots of layers on this one and perfect whether you like a vintage or modern style!

I really tried to go vintage with this layout but I can never go there completely for some reason! Sigh. To give the map a bit of a realistic look, I stamped it with Antiquing Dye Ink onto a thin paper bag, darkened the edges to give that old paper look, crumpled it up and then taped it down.

It's a great background for any travel themed project! The sentiment is from Subway Art.

You can find all the new releases in the Pink by Design store right now and don't forget to check out the new clearance section to get a few oldies before they are gone forever!

Ustream chat is tonight at 9pm CST.

Okay and that's all the info I have! Next stamp on the hop is the super sweet and talented Anna.

Works of Art

Was putting away some old layouts into albums this past weekend (wow I scrapped a ton the first 3/4 of last year!) and found this one that was never shared. It was a submission for the Clearsnap CHA booth that didn't end of making it but I kinda love it anyway!

The photos are from the zoo last summer when the kids got their faces painted all crazy.

There is just a huge mish-mash of products here - lots of Smooch Spritz, Design Adhesives, Glitter, Pigment Inks, Watermark Ink and Embossing Powder, and Stylus with tips. This page was a ton of fun to put together.

Have a great day! ♥

Happy Day

Aww! Today I have the first page for baby A's scrapbook album - the first ultrasound! It feels like forever since I've scrapped a layout and was a little unsure of even where to start but this page surprisingly came together in about an hour.

Used the March project kit from The Paper Bakery, which is full of MME Follow Your Heart and Miss Caroline goodness plus their current sketch for a jump start. Am also playing along with the current My Mind's Eye challenge to use hexagons, a favorite trend!

I just measured and hand cut a few hexies, plus cut some from patterned paper and used the chipboard ones as well.

For the border there on the right, I tried to stamp with the chipboard border and it kinda worked, even though it doesn't have the give that rubber/poly stamps do to get that smooth coverage. Still a fun washed out effect though! Loving the touch of red in this kit!

Have the most lovely weekend! ♥

Easter Moments

Easter was wonderful this year and of course it all went by so fast that I was barely able to document it. The egg hunt was on and over before I even realized there was a camera around my neck and brunch was cooked, eaten, cleaned up and most everyone had left before I remembered to pull it out and capture the moment. The only pic I did take was one with the phone camera of my Easter sweetie and her basket of goodies. Oops.

I find it so hard to both document and live in the moment and wonder how so many others can do it so well. Share your secrets please!?

Last year I remembered to take lots of pics and created this 2 pager with several photos from different Easter events. My fav part is the little word banner at the bottom of the page.

Hoping your week will be just as blessed as your holiday was. Hugs.

Pink by Design Projects - March

Hi there! Just wanted to fully share the projects I created for the Pink by Design blog in March (and one in Feb) in case you didn't get the chance to check them out on the blog.

First, from the 8th - Golden Sunshine.

Lots of sunshine here and I also shared a tip for using your Chalk Inks to stamp on glossy surfaces - it works the best! The sentiment, which inspired the card, is from Rain or Shine.

From the 22nd - Rainbow Bubbles.

This one was super fun to create using dye inks as watercolors and a sentiment from Rain or Shine.

And one from Feb which hasn't been shared yet - Dream Big.

This layout for my step-daughter uses both the Subway Art set and the Canvas Background. Love all these colors together!

Have a lovely day!

Dino Hunter

Here's a page I posted awhile back all shiny and pretty on the pages of last fall's Create: Families. Mr K was quite excited to see himself in print. And as a matter of fact, so was I :)

This page was created with my very favorite kit from Lucky Girl Crafts - "A Boy & His Toys." I can't believe there are still a few kits left and your jaw will drop at the price. Seriously.

Have a lovely evening!

2011 Love List

Hello and happy Monday! Today I am sharing a layout created for the Clearsnap blog earlier this month. It has a few fun embossing techniques using the new Mix'd Media Inx embossing powders and the coordinating pigment ink colors.

Stop by the Clearsnap blog to check out the video tutorial and more details too.

So what are some of your favorite things from 2011?
