Monday, Monday

So I have been MIA for the last week and have felt a little guilty about neglecting this blog and all my online stuff really - but not that guilty. The weather is getting nicer here and the kids and I have been away from the house, spring cleaning fever has hit me and also I've been working on projects for the twins' birthday and my sister's upcoming baby shower. Mostly stuff I can't share just yet.

I finished this mini album for my sister last week. You can see the rest of the details up on the Lucky Girl blog here - it is the Friday Fun Day project. You can use it or any of the other inspirational projects created by the Lucky Girls for a chance to win April's kit - A Boy and His Toys. Believe me, we just saw the contents of this kit last week and you are not going to want to miss it!

I also created one final project with the leftovers of my March Lucky Girl kit, Homemade Happiness. There are just a few left in the store and boy does this kit go a long way! Love this picture of the girl's kissing their brother, he was quite unhappy about it and that makes it even cuter. I used a PageMaps sketch for the design.

The newest challenge also went up last week at XOXO girls week - you can enter it here. There are 16 pages to choose from and all you have to do to enter is scraplift one or more for a chance to win an awesome prize from our sister site, Candy Shoppe Designs. I love these photos of my stepdaughter and MIL from last fall - they just look so happy together!

Hmm, let's see... here is my photo for Project 52 from last week. Taking all these photos of myself is starting to feel a bit narcissistic so I'm considering abandoning but am not sure. Maybe I'll just compile all the pics in an About Me album. My daughter might appreciate that someday.

Last is a page made using the weekly challenge at Studio Calico to use scraps. All the little bits on my desk went onto this page and now it is clean! Sadly I am really behind and this challenge ended on the 7th! I thought it was last weeks! Not my usual style, but I really really like how it turned out. It reminds me of my talented friend Michelle.

Well that's about it. I'll be around again this week but I have a feeling the nice weather will be making posts more sporadic. Later alligator.

Project 52: Week 8

No time to get chatty today :) - here's a close-up shot of my new glasses.

Project 52: Week 7

Another one from the zoo. We have been spending lots of fun time there lately thanks to the membership grandpa got us for Christmas. Saturday was a beautiful day too, nice enough for a picnic!

Project 52: Week 6

Yes, this is a terrible photo, but it's the only one I took last week. Me, planning in my notebook, lips pursed in thought. I've done that since I was a child and wish I could stop but I'll always be a lip purser. Grr.

Project 52: Week 5

Me and the computer screen. A photo you could capture several times a day in our household. Yes I admit, I have a bit of an internet addiction. It's better than watching TV right? I'm getting inspired, I'm blogging, I'm networking - those are just a few of the excuses. Anyone else care to fess up? Anyone.....?

Project 52: Week 4

I am definetly a dog person. Love all these stinky, shedding, snuggling babies. The little guy in front is my #1 man, Hank Jr, to the left is Bud, my husband's car chasing hunter who is constantly leaving his kill by the front door step and to the right is Duece my MIL's growly old man. These are our other kids.

Project 52: Week 3

Every day is a new adventure and should be approached as such - this picture from week 3 helps remind me of that.

PS. I did finish my dress this weekend but haven't had a chance to photograph it yet! Look for it in the next couple days - it turned out great!!

Project 52: Week 2

Am just feeling so much joy in my life right now. There is no better way to spend the day than playing outside in the pure white snow with the kiddos, making snow angels and climbing up snow mountains. This year is going to be an amazing year, I can feel it already!

Project 52: Week 1

I really wanted to do a photography challenge this year to improve my picture taking skills, but Project 365 just seems so daunting, ya know? Then I heard about the 52 Week Project via Odd Girl Kristy and decided it was the right fit. This challenge is about capturing yourself on camera once a week, something I rarely do. It's just so hard to get a picture of yourself that you like.

Technically my 3 year old step-son took this photo, but it's still me right? I've been setting up the camera and have the kids push the shutter button a lot recently and have found I am much happier with the results than just posing to get a good picture. It's a lot easier to have fun with a little goofball behind the camera.

This picture seemed right for the first week - to me it conveys finding peace and inner harmony. Oh and balance. And isn't that what we are all on a quest for this time of year?
