December Daily: Day 5-8

One of the things I've noticed since starting this project is that we've made a conscience effort to do more festive activities. And even though we are doing some of them so there is something to document each day, it's still a good excuse to get in the holiday spirit and start new traditions. Do you find yourself doing more than usual because of December Daily? I think it's a good thing.

Day 5 and 6 spread. These are definitely my favorite mix of papers and colors in the entire book.

Day 5. The kids favorite carols. They have learned the almost all the words to all of them (including both versions of Jingle Bells :) ) and it is so cute listening to them sing. And can anyway sing Feliz Navidad without adding Taco Johns at the end? Because I cannot.

Envelope contains different ticket stubs and receipts for activities we have done this season.

Day 6. Holiday trinkets.

Journaling reads, "Normally I can't stand having silly, seasonal stuff like these snow globe cups in this house but seeing how much joy these little things bring to you kids makes it seem not so bad. Watching you guys in constant delight this time of year makes me feel like a child again too."

Day 7. Bringing home the tree

Journaling reads, "We wanted to try a real tree again this year so dad headed out to cut one off some land up the road. It took a bit of trimming to get rid of that wild look, but the scent that fills our noses everytime we re-enter the house is worth all the extra effort."

Day 8. Decorating the tree (why doesn't my Ipod camera have a flash?)

Journaling reads, "You guys were big enough this year to decorate the tree all by yourselves. The little clusters of ornaments near all the places you can reach are so sweet. We laid out everything on the floor so you could pick your favorites then take turns climbing on the couch to reach the higher places. Dad lifted you for the boughs close to the ceiling and Keegan was chosen to put the star on top."
