XOXO Favorites Challenge

Hello! This month at XOXO we are highlighting the design team members with posts of our favorite pages. Lift away, this challenge is just for fun.

I chose my current fav page about the girls and their new bikes. Yes, I just posted this a couple weeks ago but that's alright, right? Used my July SC kit and some yummy inks from the Colorbox Paintbox - Soft Pastels.

Check back at XOXO each week to check out a few more of the girls and link up any lifts you make in the comments section. xo

Chuck E Cheese - XOXO Challenge #20

Hello lovelies! Thanks for joining today to play along with XOXO's 20th challenge! This month we have 14 amazing pages for you to scraplift, including the one above by mwah. Our lovely leader Kat Blue will be providing a prize this month and all you have to do to win in is leave a link in the comments to the page you have lifted.

More about my page - this was the first time we've ever taken the kids to Chuck E Cheese and wow it was an experience. The number of kids running around wild was just insane!  We did stay long enough to get these fun pics with Chuck E himself though.

The page just started with with the photos, tickets and spritzing - inspired by a DVD cover I saw at the video store - but I just can't do that simplistic. This page was also my first time embossing. Note to self: use the heat gun before glueing anything else to page. It burned the photos on the left side. Eep!

Hope your weekend is great!

Dragon Carousel - XOXO Challenge #19

We took a short break but the latest challenge is up on the XOXO blog. There are 14 fabulous layouts for you to choose from - scraplift just one or ten and you could win a subscription to Scrapbooks Etc, courtesy of our donor Charvonna Stackhouse. It's an awesome mag, I recently won a subscription from Jamie and am lovin the inspiration.

And here is the page I created for this month's challenge...

I used last month's Sass sketch plus my Who's Who kit from SC to complement the carousel pic. She always chooses the biggest, scariest animal. Love that about her.

You have until June 30th to post your layouts! Happy scrappin!

NSD pages

Didn't get a whole lot of time last weekend to scrap but in honor of National Scrapbooking Day, put together these 2 pages for some challenges over at SC + some manufacturer challenges.

This one was for the Crate color challenge last week, plus a scrap recipe and handstitching challenges. It's my daughter's very first legible drawing - a catfish! Her daddy was doing a lot of fishing that spring but we were pretty impressed regardless.

This one here uses the Sass sketch challenge, plus a color recipe and is also my page for the next XOXO challenge. Whenever we go to Southridge Mall (which sadly probably won't be along much longer), she wants to ride the carousel and of course chooses the biggest, scariest animal of the bunch. All the kids are really fascinated with dragons. They are pretty cool I guess.

Anyway, that's my quick update for today. More to share soon. &hearts

XOXO Challenge #18 - Adventurous Christmas

Ohmygoodness I've been out of town a whole week and am so behind on so many things! But it was so wonderful to spend time with my family, beautiful friends with perfect hair and to put together my sister's baby shower (photos for that coming soon...).

While I was gone, the newest challenge at XOXO girls went up and there are 21 new pages from the lovely Lipstick Chicks for you to scraplift and be inspired by. Here is mine:

I hadn't done anything with our Christmas photos but pulled them out to create this page using an SC sunday sketch from Lisa Truesdell. Love the way she frames the page with patterned paper. Most everything on this page came from leftovers from my March and April Lucky Girl kits.

We never get many good pics in the excitement of Christmas morning but I'll always remember last year because the kids woke us up early to say that Santa had come and they were just so happy. Best Christmas yet.

Link up your creations to the XOXO blog by Saturday, April 30th for a chance to win a great prize from Candy Shoppe Designs!

Monday, Monday

So I have been MIA for the last week and have felt a little guilty about neglecting this blog and all my online stuff really - but not that guilty. The weather is getting nicer here and the kids and I have been away from the house, spring cleaning fever has hit me and also I've been working on projects for the twins' birthday and my sister's upcoming baby shower. Mostly stuff I can't share just yet.

I finished this mini album for my sister last week. You can see the rest of the details up on the Lucky Girl blog here - it is the Friday Fun Day project. You can use it or any of the other inspirational projects created by the Lucky Girls for a chance to win April's kit - A Boy and His Toys. Believe me, we just saw the contents of this kit last week and you are not going to want to miss it!

I also created one final project with the leftovers of my March Lucky Girl kit, Homemade Happiness. There are just a few left in the store and boy does this kit go a long way! Love this picture of the girl's kissing their brother, he was quite unhappy about it and that makes it even cuter. I used a PageMaps sketch for the design.

The newest challenge also went up last week at XOXO girls week - you can enter it here. There are 16 pages to choose from and all you have to do to enter is scraplift one or more for a chance to win an awesome prize from our sister site, Candy Shoppe Designs. I love these photos of my stepdaughter and MIL from last fall - they just look so happy together!

Hmm, let's see... here is my photo for Project 52 from last week. Taking all these photos of myself is starting to feel a bit narcissistic so I'm considering abandoning but am not sure. Maybe I'll just compile all the pics in an About Me album. My daughter might appreciate that someday.

Last is a page made using the weekly challenge at Studio Calico to use scraps. All the little bits on my desk went onto this page and now it is clean! Sadly I am really behind and this challenge ended on the 7th! I thought it was last weeks! Not my usual style, but I really really like how it turned out. It reminds me of my talented friend Michelle.

Well that's about it. I'll be around again this week but I have a feeling the nice weather will be making posts more sporadic. Later alligator.

XOXO Challenge #16 - Believe In Love

The newest challenge is up over at XOXO! Head on over to the blog to check out what the other Lipstick Chicks have put together to inspire you this month. Here is my creation:

In honor of upcoming Valentine's, I had to do another page about you guessed it, L-O-V-E. My husband and I have been together since I was 20, broken up at least 10 times, broken each other's hearts and yet we are still together. If our love for each other can surpass all the drama our relationship has seen, well then I guess it must be true and that is something to believe in. I dug through some old files to find the photos above - the one of just him is probably 6 years old, in the middle is from last month, and the one of us on the right, which is prob my fav photo of us ever, is from about 4 years ago.

Now it's your turn to create. Scraplift a layout (or 2 or 3) from any one of the Lipstick Chicks for a chance to win a prize from our generous February sponsor, Candy Shoppe Designs.

XOXO Challenge #15 - You Showed Me The World

The first challenge of the year is up over at XOXO!  Head on over to the blog to check out what the other Lipstick Chicks have put together to inspire you this month. Here is my creation:
I was digging through some old photos in the computer when I came across this sweet moment from my daughter's first few weeks. I do not normally do single photo layouts but this picture warranted it's own special page.

They say to help build the bond between mother and child, you should have lots of skin on skin contact. Just one of those things about being a new mother that really gives a new perspective on the world. I included a little hidden journaling to my daughter in the pocket.

Me and Mr. Huey had a little fun creating a misted polka-dot background (don't tell my husband!) and while I don't really love the results, it was fun to do a little experimenting. I'll get the hang of the misting thing eventually.

To enter this month's challenge, scraplift one or more of the Lipstick Chicks creations and don't forget to link up! You could win a juicy Second Semester kit from Sweet Peach Crop Shop! It is chock full of goodies from Crate, Cosmo, AC, Jillibean, and more! If only I could enter too! *sigh*

XOXO December Challenge #14 - Maleah

Isn't my little step-daughter just a doll? You might remember these photos from this post - they have been begging to be scrapped! It's hard to believe she is already 3 and a half!

I used these pics to create my layout for XOXO this month. Since the pics have an autumn feeling I stuck with a warm, earthy palette punctuated by a pop of pink (hee!) - her favorite color. We did a little interview to get to text for the journaling, which she enjoyed.

So what do you think? Liftable? Head on over to the blog to check out what the other Lipstick Chicks have put together to inspire you this month. To enter this month's challenge, scraplift one or more creations and don't forget to link up! You could win a fabulous prize from Candy Shoppe Designs!

XOXO November Challenge #13 - She's 26

The new scraplift challenge is up over at XOXO and I am so excited to announce that I am now part of the design team too! My creation is above. All you have to do to enter is head over to the site, lift one (or more) of the lovely layouts listed and link up your project. Now I know creating is rewarding in itself, but in this case you also have the chance to win an awesome prize package courtesy of Scrap Attack Scrapbooking. I saw lots of Crate's Mitten Weather!! Scrap Attack carries all the latest with 10 percent off MSRP everyday and another bonus - they also give reward points to repeat customers. Well worth stopping by.

This page is about me, age 26. Where I'm at, where I thought I'd be and what I still hope to do. Having young kids is a lot of work and sometimes you lose sight of who you were before that little person became the center of the universe. Now I realize you can't put yourself on the back burner and still feel fulfilled.

To make the other wings, I traced the JBS butterfly, misted with Cherry Maya mist and edged with gold puffy paint. I also put dimensional adhesive behind the wings to help them stand.

More butterflies with an accelerator gauge to represent how fast life speeds by - you really have to take it by the reins to make the most of it.

Hope you'll stop over and have a lift! xoxo
