A Unique Bond - Sketchabilities #56

Hello, hello! Today is the reveal day for the new Sketchabilites sketch and also the final sketch of my term. I used the sketch to scrap these photos of my daughter riding a horse for the first time ever. And wow, was it love at first sight - she took right to it and could hardly suppress her joy.

Supplies
Cardstock: Bazzill
Patterned Paper: Basic Grey, Crate, Studio Calico
Alpha Stickers: Sassafras, Studio Calico
Chalkboard Stickers: American Crafts
Stamps: Hero Arts, Studio Calico
Ink/Mist/Embossing Powder: Colorbox Pigment, Smooch Spritz

Brads: Basic Grey

And here is the sketch, I hope you find a chance to play along!! Be sure to link up your page to Sketchabilities for a chance to be the next GDT!

Captain Pigtails - Sketchabilities #54

Hooray! Today is a new reveal for latest Sketchabilites sketch and the team has some really pretty inspiration for you! Here is the page I created...

This is Miss Leah learning to steer the boat with Daddy. She was quite excited about it and did a great job - I love seeing the joy on her face. She was the only one of the kids who could change direction nice and slowly without whipping from bank to bank. Such great focus, this girl has.

I used some My Little Shoebox that I received from a page that published in Simply Handmade. It definitely isn't paper that I would have purchased myself (I don't even wear argyle on a sweater) but it was fun taking it as a challenge to turn it into something that I liked anyway. Especially enjoyed making the flower embellies with Nestabilities dies for the first time.

And that's all for today. If you have a turn with this sketch, be sure to link it up on the Sketchabilities page right here.

Three, XYZ - Sketchabilities #53

Hello Monday! Today is the reveal of a brand new Sketchabilities sketch! I created this page about three important things in my life at this moment, inspired by a prompt at the Scrapbook Trends blog. Those 3 things are: being a mother, taking time to create and to keep on working towards my dreams.

The photos were taken in Instagram and matched perfectly with this color scheme which is rather atypical for me. Lots of American Crafts and a few other goodies from my July SC kit, but absolutely no pink. Feels a little 70's maybe?

It def looks different than the original sketch, but if you turn it to the side and look closely, you'll see all the major elements are present, even the flowers!

Anyway here is the sketch so you can plan along too! Be sure to link up your creations on the Sketchabilities blog so we can stop by to leave a little love and so you can have a chance at being the next guest designer. Have fun!

First Taste of Summer - Sketchabilities #52

Good morning! Today is the reveal for sketch #52 at Sketchabilities! I really enjoyed working with this sketch because I almost always use 3 photos on my pages. Plus love all the opportunities for layering! These photos are from our first beach trip at the start of the hot season - that trip is always the thing that signifies that summer is really here to stay! (Not that I am a big summer girl, much too hot and humid around here for my taste, but the kids do enjoy it.) The twins are really taking to the water - learning to dunk their heads, going in up to their chests and practicing kicking their arms and legs. I am certain they will be swimming on their own by the time next summer rolls around.

For this page, I used up the rest of my July Lucky Girl Crafts kit, Beach Babes with lots of fun, summer colors and releases from Echo Park and Bo Bunny. Also added a few Prima jewels to represent the waves - love those jewels, but am never quite sure how to use them.

Hope you'll take a moment to play along with the sketch and link it up right here!

Sweetest Dreams - Sketchabilities #51

(Scroll down for the Lucky Girl Crafts blog hop!)

It's reveal day at Sketchabilities and today is my first time playing along! Check out the sketch...

And my take on it, a page about my sweet little nephew, Remington.

He was just a little doll baby at 10 days old! The girls and I couldn't get over the series of funny faces he makes while sleeping - now what could such a little guy be dreaming about to make such silly faces one can only imagine. Cute, cute.

I had fun misting and embossing the title. Verdigris is def my new favorite color! Plus a stamped moon mobile. Originally embossed it in white thinking it would pop out of the mist spritzed on the background but when it turned out hidden I stamped over the top in black. Make it work, right?

There are 15 more interpretations of this sketch in many different styles over on the Sketchabilities blog. Stop over to find a jumping off point and to link up your version - you could be the next guest designer!

Supplies:
Paper: Studio Calico, Crate Paper, October Afternoon, Pink Paislee
Ink (all Clearsnap): Mist - River Mossy, Green Olive; Gingersnap; Embossing Powder - Verdigris,  Pearl; Dye Ink - Wicked Black
Other: Buttons - Pebbles, Sticker - Crate, Punches - Fiskars
