Free Stuff Friday

Just wanted to point some free goodness that's going on this weekend.

1. Free Class Weekend at Miss Art's Papercrafting!

The headmistress at Miss Art's would like to invite you to our biggest free class event yet!  Beginning on Friday,  March 23rd, you will have 3 days to check out three of our most popular classes for free, no subscription needed.

Three of our 201 class have nearly completed their 12 months of availability, and each of these amazing classes deserves a farewell party!  The Secret Garden with Stacy Cohen, B. You! with Heidi Kelley, and All About Me with Bethany Kartchner have all been around for nearly a year, and will soon be removed from our class schedule to make room for some amazing new classes.  That means that this weekend is your chance to check them out one last time, for FREE!  If you've been thinking about joining our student body, consider this your campus tour, led by three amazing teachers. When you visit us on Friday, head to the "Classes" page to view this weekend's free classes.  We'll see you there!

A Class, A Tag & Cupcakes

Gosh this whole month is just flying by, don't you think?! Between Christmas, birthdays, shopping, baking and making time for and making new traditions, the days are so full I barely notice them passing.

If however, you do have a little extra time or are looking for something to do doing vacation week, there is still a little time to check out my Simple Stamping class at Miss Art's Papercrafting! Or if you have already stamped your heart out, there are a few new classes debuting soon as well. :)

Speaking of holiday baking I started last night with some tasty Salted Caramel Cupcakes. And oh my goodness, the caramel filling almost got the best of me. I was up til 1:30am melting sugar, remelting and starting over trying to get it just right. Maybe it's my competitiveness, but I can't let a challenging task beat me. No way. I must master it! And it was totally worth it because they are delish!!

Top with a caramel, mine came from the store, but these sound really good.

I made 3 dozen to hand out teachers, the bus driver and a few of our neighbors.

To make the tags included with the cupcakes, I created some tags using the Make It Monday #46 - any die into a folder tag. So glad to have a simple challenge like this to distract from what I really need to be doing :) This one is my fav.

Thanks for stopping!

On the 1st day of Christmas...

...I have some fun things to share with you today.

First, today is the opening day of my Simple Stamping class at Miss Art's Papercrafting! We will take a look at the different types of ink, what they work for and how you can incorporate stamping into your layouts in 3 video sessions. Will you be attending? Please let me know what you think!

A little sneak peek of one of my projects. Yes, I know flourishes are so not in style :)

Secondly, we are doing a feature on Smooch Spritz today (and all of December) on the Clearsnap blog.

Did you know that Smooch Spritz is really different from all the other spray inks on the market? Sure it may come in a smaller package, but other inks are nearly 97% water while Smooch is all pigment and shimmer. That also means you can spray on layer after layer and your page shines but never warps. I love to spray my backgrounds so this is the spray I reach for every time.

Here is a peek at the card I created using a fun watercolor resist technique. Click here to check out my video tutorial.

That's all for today. Enjoy your first day of December ;)

Simple Stamping Class at Miss Art's

Hey there! I was so excited a few months back when Alyssa from Miss Art's Papercrafting invited me to teach a stamping class and now I am even more excited to finally share some details!! Miss Art's offers a variety of useful classes and you would be shocked at just how affordable they are. If you haven't been, you definitely need to check out the class offerings! Simple Stamping starts December 1st.

"In ancient times scribes worked long and arduous hours with bulky tools in order to impress their memories on the walls of grandiose temples. Though you still might enjoy walking like an Egyptian from time to time, you’ll be happy to learn that stamping technology and artistry have come along way in the past 3,000 years. In Simple Stamping, Sabrina Alery, teaches you how to incorporate stamping in your layouts. From deciding between dye and pigment inks to learning how to emboss and watercolor your pages, this 101 class will have you mastering a reuseable and affordable embellishment tool in 3 easy -to -follow videos. If you only ever considered stamping for card making Simple Stamping will show you what you have been missing by adding dimension, antique effects and glitter to your pages with a simple press of your fingers. Miss Art’s Papercrafting School leaves its mark on your memories beginning on 12/1/11."

Free Class Weekend at Miss Art's

Has Halloween left you covered in sweet wrappers, partially duct tapped to your child's abandoned costume with a bank account balance that's more trick than treat? If your feeling more hallow than happy let Miss Art's headmaster treat you to a fantastic, but time sensitive offer. For this weekend only, (November 4 - 6th) enjoy a tuition free class designed to renew your creativity, and go easy on your wallet.  You can even snack on the candy "taxes" you've stolen from the kiddos while taking the class.  Beginning on Friday, November 4th, you will have 3 days to check out one of our most popular classes for free, no subscription needed. In “Layered Layouts”, you will accompany our inspired resident architect, Julie Winks, as she explains the essential underpinnings of daringly designed layouts. We hope to see you in the class room and if you enjoy our class that you'll be kind enough to leave an apple or a comment for the teacher.

Layered Layouts

You're definitely going to want to check this class out! Oh and did I mention I will be teaching a stamping class for Miss Art's in December?! So excited to share more details!!!
