Tag Advent Calendar

Hey there! How was your Thanksgiving? Ours was delish - we made the turkey this year and celebrated at my husband's grandparents. We ended up slow roasting it over night (at 1:30am no less) and it turned out amazing! Falling off the bone and not the least bit dry. Will certainly be doing that from now on.

In the midst of all of the dinner prep last week, I snuck in some time to put together an advent calendar for the Clearsnap blog + 3 video tutorials on assembling the whole thing. So fun and really got me in the mood for Christmas time!

Check out the entire post here.

Some other scrappy stuff that's going on...

The new holiday theme is up at Paper Issues, so generously sponsored by Reminisce. Link up, comment to win and take the hop for a little holiday inspiration. The Cyber Monday sale is on through tonight in the Paper Shop - use my code STAMP for 30% off everything in the store!!

Stamp On It! Blog Hop

Good morning and hello November! We are hopping today and all week with Paper Issues to celebrate the newest theme - stamping - so generously sponsored by Hero Arts!! If you didn't arrive here from Diana's blog, check out the list below to make sure you don't miss a single, inspiring stop on the hop.

I worked with the Happy Holidays Snowman stamp from the Hero Arts holiday release. Isn't he cute - just love the banner! To give the image a sort of rustic look, I stamped onto patterned paper, colored with Sharpies and then embossed several times with thick embossing powder. Bend the paper to get the cracks and then highlight them with some distressing inks.

Had to add some glitter too - this is some of the new Sparkles! chunky glitter by Stephanie Barnard for Colorbox.

And of course it wouldn't be a hop without a giveaway, right?

Two lucky stampers will win one of these sets. To be eligible for the prize, we ask that you do the following:

1. Like Hero Arts on FB http://www.facebook.com/hero.arts
2. Like Paper Issues on FB http://www.facebook.com/PaperIssues
3. Leave a comment that you did both
4. Link up a project for a Bonus entry

And if all the projects leave you in the mood for a little shopping, check out the Paper Shop and use my code STAMP for an additional 20% off your order! Hooray!

Insta-Weekend

Hello, hello. This last weekend was a very lazy one but we did finally get a decent amount of snow and the chance to play in it.

The kids sledded and built a little snowman,

then finally cried cold after about an hour and went back in the house.

The hubby and I dug out the snowboard and made a trail down the backyard bunny hill.

I never did perfect the stopping part. But am not giving up yet.

Yes, this is how I ended every single run. There's a few bruises on my legs today.

He was much better.

Not! He fell down just as much.

Hope your weekend was super fun too and wishing you a lovely and productive week! xox

Enjoy the Season - Paper Bakery Sketch #3

Just popping in to share I page I created using the 3rd sketch challenge at The Paper Bakery.

I pieced together several leaf die-cuts to replicate a Christmas display we saw at Younkers with some pink and white trees. So sparkly and girly but not overbearingly so on this page with all 3 of the kids.

They have been looking forward to winter and snow pretty much ever since summer was over and they could no longer go to the beach. Winter can stay away just a little longer though, if you want my opinion ;)

How has your weekend been? I have been sewing like a mad woman since Friday afternoon and have some birthday outfits to share (for me and the little miss) with you later this week. Enjoy!

First Snow

Just have a quick layout for you today - we are busy passing around a flu bug that is taking us down one by one - I have a feeling I might be next.

It was created using this sketch found on the Trailmaker's Challenge blog:

Hope you are feeling well and are all prepared for Christmas...
