Upcycled Snow Globe Ornament

Hi! Just wanted to share a video tutorial that I created for the Clearsnap blog a couple weeks back. You can see the entire post here.

You could say that the Colorbox inks are our most widely known product but have you been introduced to all of the other fun products that Clearsnap offers? I am using several of them here (including some that will be released in January 2012) and there is absolutely no stamping involved.

This glass jar started out as a container for horseradish but I saved it from the recycling bin and did a little freestyle embossing using our new Emboss Gloss and a homemade stencil. A few Design Adhesives and Peridot Glitter add a touch of sparkle to the outside, while Sparkle Fibers and Fairy Dust Glitter in Sugar Shimmer inside help to create a winter wonderland.

The snowman inside received his coal black eyes and rosy cheeks with a touch of Smooch paint. I love that when you shake the globe around, little bits of Sparkle Fibers and Glitter stick to the snowman to give the look of shimmery fresh fallen snow.

And to keep the ornament from looking like just an old jar, I hung a clear crystal and dimensional snowflake covered with Glue Gloss and Glitter from the bottom of the lid.

Even if you don't do a lot of stamping, Clearsnap is sure to have something for you! This project is simple enough to create with the kids but doesn't scream homemade. Please see the video tutorial below for complete instructions.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Happy Holidays!

soooo cute! I call your tree the garbage can tree because most of our ornaments are made from stuff we were going to throw away.
